HealthDay: "Sleep Plays Important Role in Cardiometabolic Disease Risk"

In a study that analyzed the sleeping habits and health of 56,507 American adults, Orfeu Buxton and his colleagues found that sleeping too little or too much increases chances of developing chronic diseases.

The study, published online in advance of its release in the journal Social Science & Medicine, reports that sleeping less than seven or more than eight hours was linked to increased risk for chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.
