Massachusetts Addresses Drowsy Driving Risks

March 6, 2009

The Massachusetts Special Commission to study the impact of Drowsy Driving is releasing its report in a press conference at the State House on Friday March 6th, 2009.  State legislative commissions have pushed for new laws to address the dangers posed by drowsy drivers and the danger they pose on the road.  Some of the propositions made by the commission include making vehicular homicide tied to drowsy driving a more serious offense and expanding highway safety measures, such as clearing rumble strips and rest stops.  Those most at risk due to drowsy driving include medical residents, truck drivers, and night shift workers.
