All of our trainees in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine receive training regarding respiratory disorders during sleep as part of our three year training program. This training includes lectures, evaluating and treating patients suspected of sleep disturbed breathing (SDB) during both their 3 months of pulmonary lab training and weekly outpatient clinics at both the VA and the Medical Center at Hillcrest, during their rotations on the clinical consult and ICU consult services at both hospitals, and during their participation in sleep-related research projects.
