Sleep Events at Harvard and Beyond: Sleep Community Event

September 22, 2018 - September 23, 2018

This course will offer updates on insomnia, circadian rhythm physiology, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and more from top Harvard experts and beyond. This year, lectures have been added on sleep and cognition, depression, and effects of medications. Guest speakers include nationally and internationally acclaimed experts on sleep forensics and sleep immunology.

Sleep disturbance may lead to worsening of any medical or psychiatric disease. However, the amount of sleep education during medical school and residency is typically very limited. Furthermore, the sleep field is very dynamic with rapidly changing practice guidelines and available treatments. This makes the field of sleep an ideal material for continuing medical education.

This course is targeted to Primary Care and Specialty Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assitants, and Psychologists. This course may also be of interest to physicians who practice in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Otolaryngology, Pain Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurology, and Pulmonday Medicine.

Access the course agenda and registration here.

The course is designed to meet the following American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) / Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Educational (ACGME) competencies:

Patient Care and Procedural Skills
Practice-Based Learning and Improvement
