"OPRC Peer Mentor Program and Open House: Connecting New Postdocs and Senior Postdocs"

February 3, 2009 12:30 pm - February 3, 2009 1:30 pm

Are you a new postdoc at BWH? Beginning a postdoctoral fellowship can be an exciting and challenging time. Learning to navigate a large and complex organization like BWH, while simultaneously embarking upon your research, can be daunting if not overwhelming. To help our newest postdocs during this transition, the OPRC has initiated a program for new postdocs to network with experienced postdocs. New postdocs are invited to a luncheon at their Orientation, and via a follow-up email. All postdocs are welcome to attend and to observe and listen.

What postdocs are saying about the PMP:
"The senior postdoc I met was open to any questions and answered in great detail. It was a really nice meeting full of good advice for my work." "I enjoyed it very much. I felt that it was a comfortable and relaxed environment in which to discuss topics of interest to new postdocs." "I thought it was fun and casual. Senior postdocs spoke freely and shared their experiences."
