Sleep Grand Rounds

Sleep Grand Rounds is a monthly research seminar program that has been conducted each academic year since September 1996, incorporating faculty presentations on basic and clinical sleep research. Research scientists from Boston, Providence and Worcester area academic institutions as well as numerous visiting scientists have presented, and typical attendance ranges from 30 to 80 scientists and clinicians.

All presentations are approximately one hour, beginning at 12:00 PM, on selected Mondays in the Bornstein Family Amphitheater, between exits 5 and 6 off the 2nd Floor "Pike", in the Ambulatory Services Building, Brigham and Women's Hospital, 45 Francis Street.

If you would like to receive regular updates and reminders regarding this seminar series, please send an email request to the Sleep Grand Rounds Coordinator, Dr. Sat Bir Khalsa (khalsa@hms.harvard.edu), to be added to the e-mailing list.

Videoconferencing:
Thanks to the generosity of a Harvard Medical School Division of Sleep Medicine supporter, Sleep Grand Rounds is also available via videoconferencing technology to sleep research laboratories and classrooms at academic institutions both nationally and internationally.

If you would like to participate in Sleep Grand Rounds via videoconferencing, please download the Videoconferencing Application (doc, 41kb). Please send completed forms via email to Casey Bauer.

Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of (up to) 1 hour in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Updated Guidelines Regarding Attendance:

  • advertise, promote or display their products or commercial affiliation
  • provide food or other products or items
  • contribute comments or questions during the seminar or during the open question period immediately following the seminar
  • interact with other attendees before, during or after the seminar to discuss their products or solicit attendance at other meetings, etc.
