Division of Sleep Medicine @ Harvard Medical School
Former Trainee Faculty Affiliation Procedures
If you have been a Trainee in the HMS Division of Sleep Medicine, and are promoted to a Harvard Faculty position, please refer to the policy statement below.
Faculty Affiliation Policy for former DSM Trainees
If a trainee in the HMS DSM (as defined by their being a trainee of one of our Affiliated Faculty, being themselves involved in sleep-related research or clinical activities, and having previously participated in Division activities to the extent that they are known to the Division administration) is promoted to Instructor, then such a trainee may be formally promoted to HMS DSM Affiliated Faculty through the following process:
1) Recently promoted trainees should submit updates to their existing Profile Page, or if they did not yet have one published, submit content for their Profile Page to the website administrator. (See the Edit My Profile page.)
2) The website administrator will update or create the former trainee's Profile Page - if the page was existing, all changes except change in status (trainee vs faculty) will be made; if the page is new, all content will be entered, and page saved as a draft (with a PDF created for the review committee).
3) Instead of the usual Faculty Affiliation application materials, the Faculty Review Committee will review the former trainee's updated Profile Page (or a PDF draft, if it is a new page), and vote on whether the former trainee should either be made an Affiliated Faculty member, or excluded.
