Research Interests

My current and long-term research interests include
1. The neurobiological interactions between sleep, higher cognitive function and emotions in the context of psychopathology (especially the addictions). My current research is focused on the acute and long-term effects of psychostimulant abuse on sleep and cognition using techniques of neuropsychology, neurophysiology, and human behavioral pharmacology
2. The effects of sleep and sleep deprivation on higher cognitive functions including decision-making and executive, affective and social cognition.
3. The effects of sleep and sleep deprivation on declarative and emotional memory
4. The neuropsychology and brain bases of dreaming and states of consciousness
5. Neurodevelopmental disorders

Mentor(s)

Teaching

Guest lectures on sleep and dreaming at Boston University, public and professional meetings; organize Neurophysiology Seminar

Degree
PhD, May 2006 from Boston University School of Medicine, Division of Graduate Medical Sciences; Department of Behavioral Neuroscience
