Research suggests that sleep-deprived young people are much more likely to nod off than the elderly. Findings published by the Division of Sleep Medicine's Jeanne F. Duffy, MBA, PhD, show significantly more attentional failures in the young than the elderly after a period of controlled sleep deprivation.
